Student Critical Issues

Goal A - Objective 1:Educate parents, High School students, and industry on the value of a two year degree.

Goal A - Objective 2: Educate the general public and students about agriculture at a young age (K-12).

Action Step:

  • Make taking an agriculture course mandatory in high school/college

Goal A - Objective 3: Integrate environmental and natural resource issues into ag education (e.g. horticulture, floriculture) “inclusion of these areas of study as part of the curriculum not excluded”

Goal A - Objective 4:
Mainstream agriculture in America with help from local, state, and national legislative programs (sell them on American Agriculture… making it common knowledge where our food comes from

Goal A - Objective 5: Control animosity within and between people in the Ag profession

  • Networking opportunities
  • Able to meet students our own age in the same industry with the same passion
  • Learned that educators and industry realize the value of students
