AgrowKnowledge, the National Center for Agriscience and Technology, welcomes you to the Fourth Annual Conference on Emerging Technologies: Ventures in Innovations.

You are joined by more than 200 agriscience educators, students, technical experts, and corporate supporters representing more than 24 states and the Ukraine. This year’s conference focuses on practical innovation and technologies of the future. Conference topics include food safety and processing, natural resources, Geospatial Information Systems (GIS), biotechnology, and alternative energy sources.

A record number of students are attending the conference, including most of our 2005 Pioneer scholarship winners. Two sessions specifically designed for students are offered on Day One. From that point on students are invited to design their own schedule based on their interests in the sessions offered. Having students, faculty, and business people learning and talking together offers a synergy we want to nurture.

We have a dynamic group of speakers, interesting educational tours, booths and showcases from industry representatives and our partners, and a variety of topics for you to experience.

The majority of the sessions offered each afternoon are sessions that contain a lecture and a related lab, demonstration, or field experience. If you select one of these double sessions, you will hear a presentation or lecture first, followed by a brief break, and then return to the same group for the balance of the afternoon. The lecture will be provided by topical experts from industry and education. The lab time is provided so participants can engage in hands-on activities and demonstrations related to the topic.

The conference is designed to provide rich opportunities that will enhance your knowledge and understanding of technology, mathematics, and science applied in today’s agriculture. We hope you enjoy your time here in Ventura!
